Reflexology in Dereham, Norfolk

What to Expect During a Reflexology Treatment

At the beginning of a treatment, a questionnaire is required to be completed to make sure there are no contraindications to a treatment. All answers are kept strictly confidential.

During a Reflexology session you will remain fully clothed, only removing shoes and socks, and lying comfortably on a therapy couch. For clients who find it difficult or uncomfortable to lay flat, you have the option to be seated in a more comfortable position for yourself.

Different parts of the foot correspond to different parts of the body i.e.

  • Toes - Head/Face
  • Upper Foot - Chest area
  • Mid Foot - Digestive area
  • Heel - Pelvic/Reproductive area

A treatment starts with a cleanse to the feet, this allows you to get used to your feet being touched, some people worry as they feel they have ticklish feet, but I use a firm pressure which clients find is very relaxing and reassuring.

The whole foot/body is worked by applying gentle but firm pressure to specific reflex points, giving specific attention to 'crunchy' or tense areas, to aid the clearing of blockages which reflects congested areas, or tension in corresponding parts of the body.

You don't have to be unwell to receive a treatment, foot massage promotes a feeling of well being as well as being extremely relaxing, and is ideal for stress relief, improved circulation, better sleep quality, pain Management, increased energy and menopausal symptoms. I have had clients who have found this particularly helpful who have suffered from Endometriosis and Polycystic Ovaries, as Reflexology helps balance the body.

I have also taken extra training for Maternity Reflexology, which is important, as during pregnancy there are specific areas to be avoided, but Reflexology can be very calming, reducing anxiety and aiding relaxation.

At the end of a treatment, you will feel relaxed and grounded, you will also be given an aftercare leaflet, which will encourage you to drink lots of water, this will aid toxins to leave the body.
